Many plugins can display RSS feeds. I found one that is particularly useful when you want to organise feeds from several blogs into categories.

Adding a shortcode lets you display the list in a post, a page or a sidebar.

WP RSS Multi Importer

Setup

The process is straightforward: install the plugin, register the RSS feeds, create categories and insert the shortcode.

1. Install

Once installation is complete, a menu appears under Settings.

2. Register the RSS feeds

Enter the RSS feed URLs, following the order shown in the original illustration. Categories are configured in the next step.

3. Create categories

Add categories and assign them to the feeds you registered. This lets you organise feeds from different blogs.

4. Insert the shortcode

Paste the following shortcode into a post or page, using the category you created:

[wp_rss_multi_importer category=”1″]

5. Check the result

The feeds outlined in green and purple in the original example come from different sources and are displayed together. Organising them into categories also lets you add a title for each feed.

This looks useful when you want to list articles from several other blogs.
